To Catch a Killer - Part 2
January 23, 2007
Victor had left to check out Eric's former father (in-law). Eric was giving some land from him and it was in the area where he was from. It is good, fertile land and also in a good position for his former associates. Victor also found out that after his only daughter died, the father in law was quite upset. It affected the business and was only in the past year that he finally managed to get back on track and keep going with the business.
There is a lot of talking about what to do. Reece wants to talk more to Malcolm but the rest of the group isn't sure of him. They do talk to Tabra and ask about the symbol but she says she doesn't know anything about it.
They decide to check out the scribe that was killed and see if they can learn anything. Duece and Eric go to his place to check it out. Duece doesn't want Eric as he can't be silent but realizes Eric might be needed. As they approach his place, Duece notices someone going into the tenement who looks out of place. Meanwhile, Eric had picked out where he should stay outside to watch that would give a good view and sees someone there. Duece grabs Eric and has him come with him instead of staying outside.
They go up to the scribe's room to see the first person going into the room. Duece signals and Eric rushes in and kills him. Duece sees the other guy come up the stairs and tries to knock him down but it doesn't work and he gets hit hard. Eric finishes the first guy and rushes out and kills this guy. They throw the body into the room, grab some papers and leave.
The papers have the scribes notes and contain notes on the "Iron Throne," which none of them have heard about. However, Reece now understands Malcolm's reaction and asking if he was from the "throne." He wonders if they are trying to find this out as well.
They go back and talk to Tabra and when she hears the name "Iron Throne" she says that Malcolm is the local expert and that she could arrange a meeting. When she hears the group already knows him, she is impressed.
((((not sure where we ended. I will have to check my notes and update this later.))))
Notes
- Again, not a conclusive session but it was fun. We were not serious at all! It was fun but not serious.
- What I am trying to do is give some aspects of the game to the players to control. I know what happened, who did it and why and I am letting them drive how quickly they find out. Do they want to spend time on it? Or just brush past it and go on to other things? It is an experiment and I will see how it works.
