The Theft

The group is meeting at Deuce's place, since Reece's wasn't available.  It was cold for early spring and one of them that arrived late walked through a heavy fog, that clung to the ground.  He couldn't see more than a few paces in front of his face with this fog.  He made it to Deuce's shop with no problem.  Several came down to great him.  Meanwhile, the ones upstairs were startled by large sized weapons appearing in the air and falling to the ground.  It was two large clubs and a sword.  The ones upstairs looked at each other and realized that this wasn't good. 

They heard the large steps before they saw it.  A torso could be seen out the window and a large creature bent over to look in.  Then, it attacked the building, swinging a club as large as one of the ones that appeared.  It smashed in part of the wall and window.  Another few hits and there was a hold big enough for the party to walk through without ducking.  The group attacked the giants back.  Finn ran down the stairs and out the front to attack while Notch just lept out the window with a flying kick.  Jaden blasted spells at them but several bounced back and Jaden was forced to duck his own spells.  The back was also under attack. 

Giants pounded on the walls, in front and in back.  Deuce ran out back and tried to hide in the fog while he tried to shape change.  The others kept attacking, with Jaden healing them as needed.  Deuce realized what they were and that he was trying to hide from Fog Giants in the fog!  He ran forward to get back to his shop but had been seen and was slammed into the wall and then pounded further by a giant.  He was healed and the group managed to finish off a few and flee away from it.  The giants from the front kept attacking the shop and soon its support fell, collapsing the building.  The group was out of harm's way. 

The left quickly and found that other buildings had been attacked as well.  Reece's house had a wing destroyed but it wasn't used much.  The thing that took the worst part of it was the Temple of Lathandar.  When they get there, they manage to find the high priest who had died but there was a scroll.  Jaden used it to bring the priest back to life!  The priest (don't remember his name) wanted to check on something in the catacombs.  In a hidden vault, things were missing.  They were artifacts from the Time of Troubles, when the gods had been forced to walk Faerun. 

The group was forced to wonder if the giants had been used as a diversion for the robbery. 

Notes

• Okay, this is a travesty of a summary.  However, it does hit the high points without giving much away.
• We did run the battle with the group at Deuce's as the player who plays Reece couldn't make it that night.  Or was it Arindal?  I don't remember now. 
• It was a good battle, I think. 
• Best part was Deuce trying to hide from the Fog Giants in the fog.  At least he realized it but not soon enough.
