Obligation: The Ship (Group)

We pick up after the space battle. We spend some time repairing the ship, then scan the nearest planet. When we find nothing of significance we move to the astroid field and scan it.

In the astroid field, we find a seemingly abandoned frigate class starship. It appears to be the source of the fighters we just fought. We decide to head  towards the ship and land badly in the hangar. We try to have T3 seal up the hangar, but he fails to do so.

Isawa and Selena head for engineering for salvage. Janek, Kras, and G head to the fore of the ship to get to command. We arrive at a docking clamp that indicates a ship is docked. We open the airlock and the three of us walk in and cycle the airlock.

We go through the airlock and into a very slick, state of the art, clean scout ship. This turns out to be a very nice scout ship. There are very good detection counter-measures. It appears to have been used by three people. It also has a fully stocked armory. The stealth features include changing the signature of the reactor.

We intercept a transmission received by the frigate. It's mostly inane chatter, but shows that they are in the command area. We search the ship and G finds a secret compartment that has Imperial badges. That's when we decide to leave the ship and Kras sees on the scanner that there are people within 5m of the airlock. Kras and Janek get ready for the door to open as G opens the door back to the ship. The door had been remotely locked and was very difficult. Once back in the ship a voice comes over the ship's comms that says, "Bothan". "Get off the ship. You have 60 seconds."

We get off the ship. Calmly and casually.

We head to the planet. There are three star ports, 2 at the North Pole and 1 at the South Pole. An automated voice welcomes us to the Kimono system. It asks us who referred us, Janek replies, "Jargath." The voice gives us the coordinates to meet up with the "rest of our party." Isawa arrives as we land. She is a little nervous about what's going on. There is an individual waiting for us when we land. Kras addresses her first and says that we are here for an inspection. She says she would be happy to get us to join up with the others of our group. We begin the tour by asking questions. We managed to delay enough to get the other group to leave before we have to meet up with them. The other group leaves with 1000 clones and Kras manages to get a "receipt" for the shipment. We then finish the tour.

The order was for 10,000 clones. She gives us an example of the armor they are using.

We then decide we have enough information and we finish up and leave.

When we get back to the ship, we see that Ghenko called and left a message for us to call him back. When we call him back, he tells us that Bargus accepts our request for a new mission through the foreman droid. We argue about that a bit, but find out he just wants us to find out what Telebus is doing in a system. This system is the system that Jargath's ship left kimono to go to.

We argue a bit about him negotiating with a droid that we didn't agree to. We also tell him that the information we have will satisfy all obligations to Bargus. When we give it to him, he goes to talk to Bargus and calls us back. Bargus agrees that if we go to the coordinates, he will wipe out all our debts to him.

We arrive in system about 1.5hrs ahead of Jargath's ship. Isawa wants us to land. She has contacts in this system. We offer that we can help. She explains that this planet hosts the rebellion and we can get an upgrade to the ship. These troops are probably here to attack the rebellion and she needs to get the evacuation begun. The system is called Genosa.

We agree that they will allocate a couple droids to upgrade our shields as payment. We also get enough information on schematics and scans for the base to return to Bargus with.

We decide that our best shot to avoid major problems is to load a couple of mines into the ship and mine the space that Jargath's ship will come out of hyperspace. We manage to do a good job and when the ship comes out of hyperspace, it is hit by both mines and destroyed. 1000 troops are now floating in space.

On our way down, we manage to scan enough that we locate an area with a high concentration.

We send a communication off to Ghenko about the information about the base and how Jargath's ship just "happened" to come out of hyperspace directly into some mines.

All obligations to Bargus have been wiped out. He sends us the deed to our ship.

G takes the time to make sure the Droids have no more access to our ship and reset command codes.

15 points.

GM Notes

  • Still figuring out the system but at least they managed to work off some obligation.  Or, rather, I managed to work that into the session!
  • We may need to rethink obligation and what we have done.  I think some of the obligation defined might be motivation instead.
  • We finished up early and played the firefly game.  I enjoyed the heck out of that!  Lots of fun to see what it did!  I need more game nights.  *sigh*
