 Into The Woods

June 12, 2014

(From a player standpoint, two guys were gone and the two new players arrived.  We again talk about characters for the new players and get them integrated into the party.  Again, we play for a bit before playing some board games.  Pandemic, and we lose.  Of course.)

Goblin raids are at a high in the area.  They get back to a small village where some refugees have gathered and they meet up with their friends.  They are asked if they would be willing to check the woods to see how close the goblins are to arriving.  They set out and enter the woods and immediately run into a group of goblins.  In the fight, the Shifter turns into a large bear to attack and claws his way through the goblins.  The Barbarian rages his way through several as well.  We end as they retreat to a farmhouse to meet up with friends and keep scouting.

GM Notes

  • I decided not to give people who miss a session xp if they aren't there.  However, two points with that.
    • People who aren't there can gain xp for journal entries on the wiki.
    • I won't allow a character to fall too far behind and will keep them within two or three levels.
  • We are going to use Drama Points.
    • They can give a bonus (+5) before a roll.  Or it can be used for a reroll after the roll.
    • They can set up a dramatic situation or give some sort of bonus for a scene.
    • Other things as we think of them.
    • Players start with one and get one every time their character advances.  Further, the DM can award them as needed for the plot.
  • Had a fun time with the new guys and getting them into the group.  Looking forward to a full table of six players!
