October 7, 2486 - Grid Notes 

• The governor's race is heating up but it looks as though the incumbant has all but won his desk again.  However, Ms. Yager's group has not given up and is talking to many groups before election day.  
• The new warship is, of course, Archangel Trading Consortium's new ship.  There are rumors that the governor arranged a deal to keep it around Hammer's Star for defense.  
• The new alien race, the gardhyi, have arrived on Hammer's Star!  Several of them arrived with the Sun Never Sets trading consortium.  They have endorsed it as a wonderful group that treats aliens as equals.  
• A few of the blix arrived as well with the Sun Never Sets trading consortium but were unavailable for any interviews.  
• ATC might have been scared out of the system!  BlackGrid reports that they have cleaned out their accounts and have left, never to return.  He went on to report that the ship they left needs such extensive repairs, and they left the cost up to the tax payer, that the governor would have saved money if he had just bought a warship from the Tendril shipyards.
• TheProfessor reports that some unusual DNA research is being done and wonders why the researchers won't talk about it more.  
• The economy is looking up.  Most nations are reporting either no loss or up to a two percent gain for the quarter.
