The Trip to FR

We continued the move through the temple of Bane. Duncan has issues getting through the portal while Kernosh walks right through. A statue of Bane bows to Kernosh after attacking Sereck. We move into the final room where Cabals magical light goes out and another purple flame suddenly moves to the thoughts of Kernosh.

Then an Angel shows up and says to Kernosh “Chosen of Bane…do you bring the sacrifices…”  He denies the title, especially after the Angel says he will be a tyrant in charge of Longmaple in the future and tries to destroy a powder symbol on the floor. A battle ensues with a second angel appearing and four statues come alive, all get destroyed. 

Cabal begins the purification ritual on the temple which succeeds. Once it finishes, the purple flame that Kernosh had flows into his body while the entire temple begins to collapse as the party barely gets out in time. Outside the villagers and nobles congratulate the group and a party ensues over the temples destruction.

Sereck's Notes

Early in the morning, Cabal is awakened to the compass spinning and the orb glowing. Cabal gets the group to leave early following the compass and an image in the orb. Kernosh figures out how to summon the flame to shock of Sereck while they are traveling. Then Cabal teleports the group to FR area, then back, and then by himself to the location of the image in the orb to just outside of Longmaple. The group catches up to find a large symbol covered rock being dug up by some men Cabal had hired. Talking about what to do next, Kernosh summons the purple fire, which immediately moves without his control to the dug up rock. The symbols of Bane on the rock glow menacingly. Kernosh tries to pull the fire back out of the rock causing a chain reaction that splits the rock and fills the entire party with released power. Similar to the pool in the temple, the power increases the XP of the entire party. Cabal tries to suck even more power out of the rock until he is stopped by Kernosh. 

It is later determined this was a plan put into place by Bane himself and that the party unwittingly sped up an inevitable outcome.
