Grid Notes - August 10, 2486

  • Tri vid star Jason Ebenstar made a surprise appearance on Aegis. He took tri-pics with fans and signed autographs. He couldn't talk about the next movie, though.
  • The Orlamu church welcomes all and reminds the system of their schedule.
  • ThePreacher reports that leaders of the lost stellar nation Free Kyrena Society are alive and doing well. ThePreacher reports that they have plans to re-establish themselves in the Verge first and then back to their home systems.
  • Jerry Franks, best selling author, has had to cancel his stop in Hammer's Star due to problems with the Star*Drive on the commercial ship he was using to get around. He hopes to start his next ebook tour here in Silver Bell.
  • Another mutant uprising? Thuldan officials of the Verge say they are not repeating the mistakes of the home world and are not tampering with genes again anywhere within the Verge. "At this point, we are content to let things go the natural way. We do try and encourage certain individuals to get together to procreate, to see what their child is like but no tampering is done." Sons of Sol immediately responded, saying that they know of at least one Thuldan base that is performing genetic manipulation and once they have proof, they will release it to the grid.
  • VoidCorp posted a net 1% loss in the previous quarter's earnings. However, executives are sure that they will earn a profit by the end of the month and definitely the end of the quarter.
  • BlackGrid has reported that a ship was seen near the mining station near the Vicek Asteroid Belt.
  • More rumors about the ship Abstraction being seen heading toward the Pit. This has not been confirmed.
  • Scientists are hopeful at improving the efficiency of the gravity induction drive. A group that has formed with independent funds is working with the Orlamu Corp to increase efficiency by nearly 20%. Diane Roberts, spokesperson for the Orlamu Corp, had little to say. "We have started talks with a group and there is a plan but to talk about results at this point would be premature."
  • A reminder that any nearly arrived Mindwalkers must register in Silver Bell. Registration is free!
