Maldar Black

My mother died during my birth, I was their first and only child and my earliest, and really, my only memory of my father, Dalian, is when he took me with him for some repair work under the city.  The city sewers aren't big by humans standard, but I suppose that's why my father got the job. I followed my father into one of the cisterns, through a door, and into some tunnels.  We met up with some dwarves and they worked on fixing some of the underground chambers, hallways, and walls.  Some time later, I saw something shiny and remember being drawn to it.  I crept up, making sure none of the dwarves or my father saw me and snagged it, then I went back to where I was playing.  It was a silver locket on a gold chain, with a weird symbol on it, about the size of my hand.  My father found it later at home but laughed about it and congratulated me on a good find. Only thing I still have from before my father left. I was 11. I just couldn't ever bring myself to part with it.

Maybe we need to investigate the cisterns at some point. Something about them is written in the Spellbook or parchment as well.
