Don't Upset a Dwarf

The statue moved aside revealing an opening in the floor.
Considering the traps and such to open it up, Sereck opened up his journal and made a quick note about what it took to get here.
As he was putting the journal away, he noticed Duncan observing him.
"Just trying to keep a record of our adventures," says Sereck
Duncan seemed unimpressed as he replied back.
"Why don' you just remember them? Bit of a weak memory or something?"
The dwarf was pointing at his head, with a slight grin on his face.
Sereck decided to play along with the dwarf.
"Nothing of the kind. It has to do with...well...I wouldn't want to tax your mind on the details, but it's very important."
"Is that a fact now Mr. High and Mighty Paladin."
Sereck just smiled and turned away, thinking the matter was dropped and he had come out on top somehow.
The sudden pressure on his shoulder as his entier body was turned around made him rethink that position. Even as the other party members were decending down the shaft, Sereck could feel the sudden flurry of punches landing across his body. Most of the punches were absorbed by the crystal armor, but still had enough force to push Sereck back about four feet to the very precipice of the tunnel, where upon they assault stopped.
Then, staring down in shock at the dwarf as he held up his axes, the dwarf shook his head no and proceeded to climb down the ladder into the area beneath. That was when Sereck remembered something Duncan had told him once.
Dwarves, as a rule, don't appreciate sarcasm....
