Duncan Redhammer - Dwarf Ranger (Good)

Duncan grew up on the outskirts of the Empire's 3rd largest city,

just off the trail between the city and the local trading post and

ruins. His parents were primarily farmers, but his father dabbled in

all sorts of professions; smith, armorer, stonemason, carpenter,

guard, guide. It was on his father's trips as a guide to adventurers

seeking the trading post and ruins (where fabulous wealth was

supposed to be hidden) that Duncan felt the happiest, learning the

woodland arts from his father.

When he was of the appropriate age, Duncan was apprenticed to a

master mason in the city. Duncan was responsible for manual labor

but, given his guide skills, he was also responsible for traveling

with the teamsters to bring back the stone from the central

quarries. It was here that he learned the beauty of the underground

and the dungeoneering arts.

On his Naming Day, Duncan's father presented him with a set of axes;

a battle axe exquisitely crafted and simply adorned and a matched

hand axe - weapons that his father had crafted himself. Taking his

weapons, Duncan soon set out into the world to ply his trade as guide

and explorer, a decision that pleased his father but worried his

mother.

Leaving the borders of the Empire, Duncan made his way in the word of

men, taking odd jobs here and there to supplement his living off of

the land. After several months of travel, Duncan landed in the town

of Glenmaple. It was there he saw the notice from one of the local

merchants - "Explorer neeed".

Duncan had found his first commission.
