Dinner in Chicago

The evening starts with the party members separated.

Bullock and Hendricks (both US soldiers with extended special assignments) had just finished dropping off some mysterious crates to a government warehouse in Chicago. They have the evening off and don't have to report back to duty until the following morning. After some discussion, it is decided to find a cheap hotel, clean up, and go out for a bite to eat. They pass a diner and decide to come back to it after cleaning up. The only issue is they are driving an up-armored army Humvee complete with a rather large cannon in the back, so security is an issue. Normally they would wear uniforms before driving in it, but they were off duty. The hotel is not a high end establishment, but the water is hot and the neighbors are noisy but ignorable. They finish cleaning up and soon arrive at the diner and sit so they can see the Humvee out front as they enjoy their meal.

Daniel, a rather good looking guy in his early twenties,  arrives at Gordon's home and knocks on the door. Gordon and Steve are both there, and it doesn't take Daniel long to explain he was sent to them by Rebecca to help him locate his sister. The two seem confused why he is there as he suddenly has a vision as if he is looking through his sisters eyes. He says he sees candles and a summoning circle. This changes the attitude quickly of the two men who are suddenly interested and ask for details about the vision. While describing his sister, his great-grandmothers locket that she was wearing earns the attention of the scholars as they determine the symbol on it is representative of a summoning symbol.

Steve decides to do something new and casts a ritual spell to determine the girls location. He is shocked to have it work as he manages to get a vague idea of where to go. The three of them pile into Daniels 2008 Mustang and they are off in pursuit of his sister. After a very short time, the spell wears out, and the group spends a couple hours hopelessly trying to get back on track. Late, frustrated and tired, they decide to stop at a diner they see in front of them for some food and to rethink their next move. They are intrigued by the army Humvee parked out front and pull up next to it. Gordon surmises by the lack of a license plate that it is the real deal, but as they enter the restaurant is curious why nobody in uniform is in there eating.

The soldiers radios squak, and as they both look down at them the lights in the restaurant go out. Quickly, guns are drawn by both the soldiers and by Steve. Gordon also has a gun but had not pulled it out yet. Hendricks, sizing up the diner moves behind Steve and places the gun against his head demanding why he is packing a gun and if he's a cop. He shows his permit and the tension lessens as everyone introduces each other. Of course, the rest of the patrons seeing guns all ran behind the counter.

Gordon and Bullock check out the back exit, where Bullock is able to see what looks like a werewolf across the street. He shuts and locks the door and then piles items in front of it to slow the creature down. Comming to the front of the store, Hendricks looks back and says "werewolves" as he begins to barricade the door and Bullock knocks tables over for cover. The two civilians have their guns out as Daniel tries to calm the terrorized civilians. As they wait, the party can see the streetlights going.  Gordon gives Daniel a pistol (after confirming he does know how to use it) out just before two werewolves come in the front windows and one bursts through the back entrance.

Gordon and Hendricks each hit a separate wolf in the front as Hendricks easily kills his. A wolf attacks and rips Steve open even as Gordon and Daniel unload into it, killing it. Even as the one on Steve is killed, a fourth wolf jumps through the window. Three guns go off hitting the wolf and killing it.

Steve is hurt pretty bad, so they load the dead wolf's bodies into the back of the Humvee and decide to take him and them the few blocks away to the warehouse for medical attention. Arriving at the warehouse, the entire front is gone even though they never heard and explosion. Two survivors are inside, and one is a medic that helps Steve. As Hendricks and Rob realize the crates are gone, Daniel has another vision,this one definitively tying the location of his sister and the missing crates together.  It is decided to find Daniel's sister and, subsequently, the crates.  Some silver bullets and a shotgun are given to Steve and silver bullets to both Gordon and Daniel.

Steve again casts a ritual using left over packing material from the crates to help locate them. The end up at an old building and move in from the back entrance. A wolf appears and dies in a hail of gunfire. At the end of the hall is a room.  The soft glow of candles emminates from the room.  Hendricks enters the room and yells "Everybody down" as he is lifted in the air and flung against the wall and out of sight, leaving an opening for another werewolf to attack. This one takes longer to kill but also dies. As the front of the group engages the werewolf, Daniel and Steve hear a car suddenly pull away into the night.

Then a women approaches and says “You’ve ruined it, you will pay!” as a spell goes off at Gordon and Rob. There is a crackle of energy as a ball of lightning flies down the hall and hits the front two people.
