Battle with the Demon Blooded Humans

Michael convinces the group to go back to the cabin area and take out "the pure."

His reasoning is that they will come after us eventually, and we should take them out.

The group decides to make new ammo to take care of both spirits and the pure.

 

While making new ammo, the phone rings. It is Carters former boss, Hendricks."

"Well, I need you to come in."

"I'm not coming in. You can send people to pick up whatever you need."

"You have to come in for your final debrief or I will freeze everything. Your assets, your bank account, everything."

"No. I'm not coming in. Just leave me alone."

"Is this how you want it? You haven't finished your paperwork, you have 5 reports to turn in."

Michael asks what he needs and asks if Hendricks can wait until tomorrow, Carter says that to him.

 

 Gordon suggests "what about this, shotguns are rock-salt, pistols & rifles are silver. That way, you know what type of weapon you are getting if you pick it up. So Gordon goes over and gets everything assembled to take with.  Everyone gets 1911 pistols so they can use them.

 

The group heads off in two cars, taking the interstate to get back there as fast as possible.

 

Michael calls his dad Thomas to let him know he is on the way back to the cabin.

Thomas: "Hello?"

Michael: "This is Michael. I tried to call you yesterday. I stopped by the cabin, the pure were there with spirits. My friends and I escaped, but have decided to go back and take out their pack. Was about a dozen of them. We destroyed the cabin so they could not use it. Any suggestions?"

Michael: We were trapped at the cabin for the whole night. Well, I didn't want you walking into a trap if something had happened to me.

Thomas: "And the past three months?"

Michael: What? I've been gone longer

Thomas: "We found the cabin and the others and didn't know if you were alive or taken or what."

Michael: I've been tracking the people responsible for the attack on the cabin. I'm making good progress. I've taken out at least one vampire involved. It gets complicated, we can talk in person

Thomas: "And you didn't call before now because . . . ?"

Thomas: "So, youi are coming back to attack the Pure?  Why now?"

Michael: well, and he is off on his own for the first time from the pack. and it was a failure. he didn't want to call until he could say "I've avenged my brothers" type thing

Michael: in character - "I didn't call before because I didn't have enough answers to give. You could have called me if you were concerned. You know my cell number too. Anyway, this is getting us nowhere. We are going to take out the pure in the park. I just thought you should know."

Thomas: "Okay, but you have never had anything to prove to me.  And . . . Go get the door, will you (your mom)?  You have nothing to prove to me and-" 

Thomas: BANG

Thomas is typing a message.

Thomas: Phone goes dead

Michael: DAD! HELLO

Michael: YOU THERE!

 

 Carter suddenly notices a car is following the two vehicles. It is doing a really good job of hiding and being found. He suddenly realized they must be using satellites to track the vehicles.

 

Michael tells Carter "Drive as fast as you can. Someone just shot at my family!" He then calls the other car to inform them about the situation. The speeds don't just increase, they double. The two vehicles are flying past other cars at over 140mph. Even with the speed and the swerving around the other cars, the vehicles are never out of control or jerked, they move smoothly.

 

The group is about 5 minutes away when Michael asks if there are any plans that people might have, not knowing how the new abilities might help the situation. Unfortunately, it boils down to Michael and Carter in the front, the other car covers the back.

 

Daniel does a "sense consciousness" to determine what is in the general area. He detects a single consciousness in the house. "Hey guys, there is a single presence in the house. It is more spirit than anything, but it has elements of human to it."

 

The front door is off its hinges and it looks like an explosion or a shotgun type breach tactic was used on the door. It is hanging on the inside of the room. It is just 11am, so plenty of light to see.

 

 Michael, jumping out of the car, he shifts into near-wolf form and starts rushing towards the house sensing for any scents in the area. The others are shocked because his size is much larger than before, as if he turned in Gauru form. Carter and Steven follow into the house.

 

 A human form is in the center of the room. As the group enters he turns and sees Michael.

"Demon!" he yells.

Michael can sense there is some sort of spirit protecting the human.

Carter leaps past Michael and tries to grab the human. He does grab him, and he smells something about the guy, like alcohol or something, but he can't put his finger on it. He clamps down pretty hard on the guy but cannot drop him to the floor.

 

Michael moves up and slashes at the human, getting past his armor and cutting into him.

Daniel walk in calmly. He does not see any weapons on the human as he looks at him. He sets part of his mind to watching for any outside dangers - only to suddenly sense that there are demons in the woods heading closer. He informs the party.

 

"Um...guys...yeah, we got some more coming up. I, uh, thought you would want to know" says Steven.

Steven says to Daniel "can you try and force the demon out of its human host?"

 

The spirit tries to break free and slams Carter into Michael. Neither take damage but are thrown a little off balance since they were not expecting it.

"We've got a couple back here, they look human!" yells Gordon from the back.

Steven, looking at the humans, can tell easily that they are possessed. To him, their eyes are black and glowing.

Gordon, not wanting to kill the possessed human, grabs the wooden knife holder, drops out the knives, and throws it at a human/demon. It smacks into him and he drops to the ground, stunned.

 

Carter, crouching, grabs the man, jumps straight up into the ceiling smashing the guy into it, and drops back down to the ground releasing the unconscious body ot the ground.

 

Michael sees the unconscious human and realizes that knocking them out is a way to get the demon out. If he had a protective circle in place, he could capture the demon, but that will not happen here. So he yells to the group "knock them out, the demons will escape, but the humans will live." as he rushes past Gordon and punches a human in the face with the blunt end of the dagger. He takes the hit, but not as much as Michael had wanted.

Daniel casts a psychic assault at one of the humans. The human, running forward, suddenly stops as if he has hit a pole and bounces backwards onto the ground.

Steven, running out front, grabs the pole on the front of the house and using the rod angles a shot to push two of the humans together. He manages to hit him and knock him into the other guy, although not with as much force as he wanted.

 

The guy in front of Michael pulls out a grenade and lets it go off right in front of Michaels face. Michael takes no damage but suddenly finds himself in human form.

 

Out front, one of the humans runs at Steven and tries to grab his wand and use it to flip Steven off the porch. He manages to catch Steven and fling him to the ground.

 

Carter turns to run out the front door, leaps over the porch with Daniel laying on it, and while in mid air, hurling the unconscious body from the living room into one of the other humans out front.  Both of the humans rolls backwards from the impact.

 

Gordon changed the ammo into his weapon into rubber bullets and shoots one of the guys out back.

 

Michael, still shocked from being forced back into human form, totally misses trying to punch him.

 

 Daniel, running out of the house, also jumps over Steven and manages to do a flying kick the humans head pushing him back.

 

The two remaining demons try to take off running. Gordon yells "Do you want me to stop him?"

"Yes!"

Gordon swings his arm in an arch and causes the rubber bullet to twist around Michael and smacks the human in the knee, knocking it out of position and causing the demon to fall.

 

Carter leaps through the air at the other human running away and slams into his back with his knee, knocking him out.

 

 Daniel looks around with his senses to tell if anybody is watching. He senses something, and sends out mentally that there are a couple of people a few yards away watching. Looking at the bodies as they get them closer, they are demon blooded. It isn't that they are possessed, they have demon blood in them.

"If they are demons, why did they yell that at Michael?" asks Carter.

"Maybe they were calling the others?" answers Daniel.

"Should we go get the others then?" asks Carter

"Yes" says Michael. As Gordon nods and the three begin to race towards the people at the cars.

Daniel, even before the 3 are out of the house, mentally suggests to the people outside that the group is still at the house. He suddenly has an idea and just knocks them out. "I knocked them out, just bring back their unconscious bodies." Carter sighs, runs out and picks up the two humans and brings them back.

 

At this point, there are seven demon blooded humans in the house. Searching the bodies, they have all the typical stuff that normal humans would have: cell phones, id's, licenses, money, etc.

 

Daniel takes the one that was in the house back to a room to interrogate him.

"Did you kill the others then, demon. I know that I am cursed, but I try and use it for good. I assume you are going to sacrifice me to your god. I know I am already dead."

In our minds, Daniel calls out "keep him talking, I'm going to delve into his mind while you keep him pre-occupied."

"At least the others are gone.  It took 15 of us to take the three of them."

"What did they do with the others that were here." asks Steven

"The others took them away, I don't know where they took them."

"Well, you must be aware that being demons, we can prevent your soul to go where it is supposed to go."

says Carter.

"My soul is already cursed, I am going to hell, that threat means nothing to me. Before I go,  will take as many of you with me as I can."

 

Gordon says "what are we going to do with this guy?"

Steven tries to prove to the guy that we are good, but the guy won't believe it.

Michael says "Fine, they are nut-jobs that won't believe us. So we call the cops, have them pick up these guys after Daniel convinces the cops how dangerous these people are."

 

Daniel says he will wait at the house for the sheriff while the rest leave to get to Michaels parents.

Ten minutes later, the sheriff shows up and Daniel has no problem convincing the guy of the dangers of these people.

The first address the group arrives at is a Lutheran church. He circles the building and is certain it isn't this one so they call the others and drive to the second address. All of the group gets the sense this is the place, even before Michael smells the scent of his parents. This church seems to be different. The church looks like a cathedral but made with stone. However, there are a lot more cars in the lot. More than just the ones that brought the family here.

 

Michael can track that they went through the back door. He looks and sees Daniel and Gordon drive up, and he waves over to them.

The group is all prepared to bash the door down, but as he grabs the handle, the door opens.

"I think we need to make all these people leave."

"We need to make them think there is a fire. We don't have to pull the alarm, we just make them think there is a fire."

"Wait, we can just have Daniel make everyone leave." says Gordon

"How many people can he do at once?"

"Well, we can just take our time. Two or three minutes and people will be gone."

Suddenly Daniel says "they know we are here. The same way I know they are here, they know. I am going to make all the adults think they have to go. So they take all the kids and will leave."

As if on cue, everyone in the basement gets up and leaves.

Michael, follows the scent of his parents up to a wall. He looks to the group and explains where the scent goes.

Steven calls forth his shotgun from the vehicle, using his ability to call if forth.

Michael hears from Daniel, "You hear in your head "I sense werewolf minds ... 3 of them but knocked out.  They are about to be killed."

"Open the door, now, one of you, I don't care how!" says Michael.

Trying to be semi-quiet, Carter pushes the wall and manages to open it. Michael immediately pushes past Carter and rushes down the opening.

Going into the room, it is an old cellar. It looks eighty or ninety years old. Each one of the people in the room is holding the parents and the sister with silver knives to their necks.

"Get out of here demon spawn."

"Release my family demon blood"

"I am not one of the chosen," he says, as he slices on Michaels fathers throat with  the silver dagger.

Daniel says "Now" as all three humans get a glossy stair.

Gordon yells out Right as he shoots with his rubber bullets

Michael rushes the person at the center to try and rip her head off.

Carter shoots at the one in the middle, trying to disarm her.

 

Michaels sister twists out of the way. Michael almost rips off the arm of the woman moving the knife out of the way. Carter, shooting right at the persons brain stem, hits, causing him to release the blade.

Michaels father turns and punches the person holding him.

The sister gets away and punched the person holding her.

 

Steven shoots one in the corner with his shotgun.

Michael, in full rage, shreds the woman in front of him. He then turns to the human that was holding his father. He ripped his claw all the way through the guy, having his claw hit the wall passing through the man.

His sister and mother both try to stop Michael as he turns and charges the last person, easily passing right past them.

Daniel attempts to calm Michael, but fails.

Michael attacks the last guy, hits him a glancing blow.

Finally, Michaels mother manages to get through to him and calms him enough to drop down to near human form. Michael is breathing very hard as he looks around the room for his family. He rushes over and holds his mom and sister as they move over towards the father. His father's wound, although painful, is not life threatening.

Michaels sister is 37 years old, but that doesn't slow Daniel down as he starts hitting on Michaels sister.

Carter says "I am burning this place down. It is evil."

"No no no no, this is a church. They are going to find other bodies around here as well as these bodies. We just need to get Michael and his family out of here before the police and everyone else gets here."

Gordon gently

Michael informs the parents about the sheriff.  The family, once they realize Michael is not in danger, calms down quickly. Everyone leaves except Carter, who is still stalling. He stops at the kitchen and washes some of the blood off his hands. Then, nonchalantly, pulls the fire alarm as he walks out to the car.

Steven decides to control light around the cars so that the plates and the cars themselves are just hard to see.

We drive over to Kaukanau and get a large hotel room. Gordon doesn't care and gets several rooms and pays for everything in cash. Michaels parents thank and hug him. "We didn't know how close you were, these guys just suddenly attacked and drug us off to the church."

"Actually, we were quite a ways away." says Steven to Ann as he and Carter share a laugh.

Michaels mother takes Carte to the store and picks up a ton of food since there is a kitchenette in the hotel. Once the food is cooking, Michael finally calms down.

"Well, we knew the pure was going to make a move soon. but I don't know who these guys were."

"They also made the impression that they had the demon blood force on them."

 

The group decides to go after the pure since it is just one pm in the afternoon. Ann says she knows where the alpha of the pure was living, and gives directions there.

 

The group drives up to the house and the front door looks like Michaels parents house. Walking inside, there is a single body lying there. It looks like this guy was killed with silver bullets. There are a lot of blood trails. Eventually, the group finds four more bodies. One doesn't look like a wolf body, but the rest of them have been riddled with bullets.

 

Ann, who came along, begins getting upset and goes back to the car. Daniel decides to go wait at the car with her once he confirms to Michael that there isn't anything else in the area.

 

There are a couple of bodies buried out in the barn. They look like ones that were slashed.

We found four werewolf bodies, one in the house and 3 outside. There were 8 wolves that were buried, but that was probably done by the pure.

Ann says "well, I know where a couple of other of their hiding places are we could check."

We check them out. There are six bodies there from dead pure and three bodies that were slashed. The non-wolves have no identification although it can be seen they had wallets at one time.

Ann says "let's check out the other places I remember."

Three more places we go to have nothing. The last place has four more human bodies, and the last of the pure.

 

The group decides to hang around hoping to catch a glimpse of the 20+ other demon/humans. Daniel starts by listening in at the jail, but they seem to all be mentally deficient. They do a lot of praying, but not very good praying, and not accurately by any means. Daniel had enough of listening into that mess, and says he will go check the other addresses leaving Michael to hang around the jail in case they are bailed out.

 

Daniel realizes all the houses are within walking distance of the church.

 

 Right before the station is about to close, a very expensive Cadillac pulls up and 3 suits get out and go into the station. After about 35 minutes, all the guys are let out.

 

Cabs show up and the suits pay them all and send them on their way. Michael gets all their scents. he calls the others to come over, and they show up before the cabs leave. the group decides to follow the Cadillac and it pulls into one of the nicest hotels in Appleton.

 

Daniel is easily able to get some information from the person at the front desk. And Gordon was able to get onto the computer and track it to the Charon group out of Chicago. They got the most expensive rooms at over $800 a night and spending thousands on expenses.

 

"I have all their information and back-tracked, and this is apparently some executive from that group and some lawyers. it sounds like they are in house lawyers. So..." says Gordon.

"Charon? The ferryman from the river Styx? That doesn't bode well." says Steven.

 

The group decides to install a massive security system in Michaels parents house. Other pack members are taken into account as well as the house is set up with cameras, motion sensors, and all the balls and whistles.

 

 

Carter needs to go back to meet with Hendricks. he goes with to act as a radar detector for Carter so he can drive faster. When they get there, Hendricks doesn't get out, he just motions for Carter to come in. Both Carter and Daniel can tell that Hendricks is acting weird. They are at a new place that looks a little more like an office building, but the fact he is staying so far back and waving seems wrong. There are a couple of security guards there that also seem odd to be here at that time.

 

 

Daniel decides to read his aura. He sends a message to Carter that Hendricks is seeming distrustful and suspicious. Carter thinks that makes sense so he sends off Daniel and tells him to just wait.

Reading the guards, Daniel sends a message to Carter "The guards are afraid of you. Can you withstand tranquilizers?" Carter says he will keep going.

Once inside, the guards pull out guns and shoot him. Carter rolls his eyes and says "are we really going to do this?"

Notes:

• I had to have the Pure killed so they couldn't give away information too soon.  Besides, it segued nicely with some other things that were happening. 
• I am glad I have had time to think about how to handle the scene.  I like my ideas better now. 
• Lots of good ideas going forward.  Now I need the patience to implement them.
